"Assisting Students with Learning Disorders: Understanding Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) [Basic Level]"


Hello! This is the office of Diversity & Inclusion Promotion. Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs)
are a type of disability that causes specific difficulties in learning, such as reading and writing,
despite there being no issues with intellectual development, eyesight, hearing, or motivation to learn.
The identification of this disability is often delayed, and a lack of understanding from those around
them can lead to a decline in the student's motivation to learn, academic ability, and sense of self-
affirmation.
The aim of this seminar is to deepen understanding of the situation of students with SLDs, how to identify
them, and key points for support. We look forward to your participation!


1.Date and Time: Friday, March 14, 2025, 14:00 - 15:30
2.Format: Hybrid (In-person & Online via ZOOM)
  In-person Venue: Suzaku Campus, Room B03
  Note: For online participants, text information will be provided in both English and Japanese.
3.Target Audience: Faculty and Staff of Ritsumeikan Trust
4.Speaker: Professor Akihiro Kawasaki (Professor, College of Social Sciences, Ritsumeikan University)
